1980s Yessica Black Felt Veiled Cocktail Hat

A wonderfully evocative Yessica cocktail hat, shaped in rich black felt and enveloped in a delicate, free-flowing veil. The softly sculpted silhouette sits close to the head, while the netting falls with deliberate irregularity around the crown and face, creating movement and just the right touch of mystery.

Wear with a beautifully cut black dress, long gloves and a strong red lip for pure vintage drama, or contrast its femininity with a sharply tailored trouser suit. Particularly striking for Goodwood Revival, where this very hat was worn by myself, adding a true period-authentic provenance to its story, as well as for evening occasions, cocktail dressing or an elegant winter wedding.

Condition

Very good vintage condition.
The black felt remains beautifully shaped and well preserved, with only light signs of previous wear. The original net veiling is intact and retains its wonderfully irregular drape, with some gentle age-related softening and unevenness consistent with its delicate nature. The interior and original Yessica label are also well preserved.

As with all vintage pieces, minor traces of age may be present and form part of its history and character.
