Vintage sizing belongs to another era. Your measurements don’t.
Vintage sizes can differ considerably from modern sizing — and even between designers from the same period. For this reason, Vintage Christal provides detailed measurements for each garment together with a carefully considered modern size equivalent.
Unless otherwise stated, measurements are garment measurements, not body measurements.
how we measure our garments
- Shoulders — seam to seam across the back
- Bust — underarm to underarm, measured flat and doubled
- Waist — measured flat at the natural waist and doubled
- Hips — measured at the fullest point, laid flat and doubled
- Sleeve — shoulder seam to cuff, unless otherwise specified
- Garment length — mid-shoulder to hem
- Rise — waist to crotch
- Inseam — crotch to hem
